Steel and aluminum alloy scaffold planks are two mainstream scaffold walkway materials with distinct performance and application attributes, with no enterprise-related information involved. In physical performance and load capacity, steel planks(mainly Q235B/Q345B)have high structural rigidity and rated load capacity of 2.0–5.0 kN/m²,with excellent resistance to impact and deformation, suitable for heavy-duty construction with multi-person operation and material stacking;aluminum alloy planks(6061/6063 series)are lightweight(1/3 the weight of steel planks of the same size),with moderate load capacity of 1.5–3.0 kN/m²,easy to carry and assemble but prone to permanent deformation under heavy impact.
In corrosion resistance, ordinary steel planks rely on hot-dip galvanizing for anti-corrosion protection, with good durability in general/industrial atmospheres but prone to rust if the zinc layer is damaged;aluminum alloy planks have inherent anti-corrosion properties,no need for additional coating, and perform excellently in coastal salt spray, humid and chemical corrosion environments. In application scenarios, steel planks are the universal choice for general building construction, bridge engineering, industrial plant construction and high-rise heavy-duty operation, with wide adaptability and low replacement cost;aluminum alloy planks are mainly used in high-altitude light operation, coastal construction, chemical plant maintenance and temporary scaffold projects requiring frequent disassembly and movement, due to their lightweight advantage.
In cost and durability, steel planks have lower one-time procurement cost and longer reuse times(30–80 cycles)with regular maintenance;aluminum alloy planks have higher initial cost, shorter reuse times(20–50 cycles)due to easy deformation, and higher maintenance and replacement costs for damaged parts.
